Consent for photographs
Before taking any (digital or polaroid) photographs, please obtain informed written consent (consent form here)
Using the camera (CUH)
- Please ensure that the patient has given fully informed (written) consent before taking any educational photos
- Use photograph consent forms. Copy kept in medical notes and with ED secretaries.
- If patients cannot give consent please obtain from next of kin prior to taking photos.
- If no next of kin present, photos can be taken but not be released until consent obtained later.
Downloading and viewing images
- Leave the Resuscitation log running
- Note patients MRN.
- Ask Íomhar to download and record teaching images.
Digital x-ray images (MUH)
- Double right click image to select as usual
- Go to View, Format, Original or press F1
- Edit, Copy to TIFF, then save an anonymised copy of the x-ray to the computer's "My Documents" folder.
