Preferred Drug List CUH
For those working in CUH, please familiarise yourselves with the Preferred Drugs List (available on the CUH intranet: preferred Drugs List) or in a handy sized print version from the Pharmacy Dept.
The preferred drug list is a listing, by BNF category, of the preferred drugs approved on the hospital formulary for use in CUH.
The purpose of this Preferred Drug List (PDL) is to:
- promote safe prescribing
- promote rational prescribing
- reduce prescribing costs
- reduce the unnecessary stocking of many drugs
The PDL is intended primarily for general use and does not cover specialist indications or medicines that should be initiated by Consultant. The PDL also contains some useful prescribing information.
